Leon Window, the Abergavenny based racing driver and managing director of Select Security, is taking on a gruelling 24hr endurance race at the Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium on October 21-22nd.
Leon, who also races in the Dunlop Mini SE7EN championship, will be taking on the challenge in a Citroen C1, which has been prepared by Neil Garner Racing. The regulations permit only minimal modifications to each car, which guarantees close racing.

The popular race has a field of 100 cars, consisting of a mix of Citroen 2CVs and C1s, with between three and six drivers per car.
The event typically attracts some high-profile racing drivers, and this year is no different, with current British Touring Car and British GT champions taking part.
Racing alongside Leon in a team of four is ex-F1 mechanic Neil Garner, Ferrari 550 racer, Pete Fisk, and Luis Gonzalez, the current Spanish go-kart champion. Commenting on the event, Leon said: “When the opportunity to race at Spa presented itself, I jumped at it. The circuit is right up there as one of the most iconic in motorsport. While an almost standard Citroen C1 may not pack the biggest punch, the challenge of maintaining momentum, dicing with 100 other cars, and racing for a full twenty-four hours is hugely motivating.
“I had an opportunity to test the car at RAF Lyneham recently and was surprised by how quick it is with only minimal modifications. We have a solid package and team and are aiming for the top step of the podium. I would like to take the opportunity to thank the local business who are sponsoring the team, including Henry Howard Finance of Newport, Klein Tools of Torfaen, Standard Signs of Newport, and Select Security.”
